PS2 Game suggestion... looking for freed ...

I always liked games that don't bound you to a map, games that give you the choice to make your own way from one place to another. This kind of games I know that there are mostly for pc (Ex: Oblivion, and many others). So what about games for PS2 with free wandering you know? I could say:GTA3
GTA Vice City
GTA SA
Shadow of the ColossusAre there any others? I'm kinda done with the whole ''clean-the-map to continue'' thing...PS2 Game suggestion... looking for freed ...
MGS3 isn't exactly free-roaming, but there are a lot of different ways to do things, and the whole game feels really organic and open-ended... MGS2 is sort of the same way but not as much. Neither of them have legitimate free wandering though. And please don't get any lame GTA ripoffs. Please. PS2 Game suggestion... looking for freed ...
That game doesn't have any free roaming... I'm tired of hearing that MGS has it all... it seems it only fails on curing cancer. I'm not looking for something that ''looks like'' an open ended map... I'm looking for games WITH open ended map.So please come up with real answers, not any more MGS marketing

[/QUOTE]I wouldn't recommend the PS2 version actually. The PS2 version has so much of the cool effects and features cut out that it is barely worth trying.I think Gun is a game worth trying out and possibly Tony Hawks American Wasteland.

The levels aren't even that big. ....Just CauseTrue Crime LA or NYMorrowind (on the XBOX only) Jak (and Daxter) 2 %26 3 MercenariesSid Meiers Pirates (on the XBOX...I think this was on the PS2 too) Simpsons Hit %26 RunRoadkill
i agree that just cause and mercenaries are great free roaming games but my opinion would be MGS3 its not exxactly free roaming but t is open ended like mentioned before and that is almost equivalent to free roaming you can make any choice on how you want to complete a quest or defeat a boss.

Most levels are cramped and extremely linear, even the 'outdoor' ones....but leave the option to shoot your way out of it. Games with REAL decisions and various paths to solve a problem would be stuff like Deus Ex, Thief or System Shock.

Although it's linear compared to WRPG's like Oblivian it's probably the least linear Final Fantasy game you're likely to play.
