My SNES has been acting strange. On most games it loads the title screens fine, but as soon as the games start, the screen freezes. And on some games it fails to recognise the controller. What the crap?Is there any way to fix it if i pry it open?Is my SNES dead? :(
hmmm, try blowing (serious way) into the games and controler port then try again. Is my SNES dead? :(
It has gone on to a better place. Just know that it is living peacfully, waiting for your arrival, in a state of emulation. Let it go.
Yes your Snes has kicked the bucket. Time to get another one.

What a sad story. A SNES dying from natural causes :/ I got 3 SNES in my family and I would be heart broken if any of them ever died. Hopefully there is something you can do to save him.
Yes, if it's happened with several games, then your system is probably a goner. (They are extremely cheap to get on eBay though, if you want another, and you can save your cables, too.)
Clean your games with rubbing alcohol and q-tips and try blowing compressed air in the console. That should do the trick. :D
my snes still works after 15 accidental falls and broken outer shell and its a tan one first gen SNES and it was used when we bought it in 1994
I'm sorry about your loss. If you still can't get it to work after using an alcohol swab, consider purchasing a Retro Duo, which is relatively inexpensive and plays nearly 100% of the NES and SNES games in existence. Plus, you can still use your SNES controllers with it.

Then again i'm more in to collecting than playing so it might be a good idea fo some people... I'm not sure if the SNES is the same but when the NES has this happen to it you can just buy a new pin, gold pins are best and can be bought on ebay for $10. You also need the tool to unscrew the special screws on the SNES which can be bought on ebay for cheap.
