Help with Dreamcast

I own a Dreamcast and have the problem where the controller can't connect with the system. Can anybody here give a good rundown of how to get this problem fixed?Help with Dreamcast

Can you be more specific?When you say can't connect, do you mean you are unable to connect the controller to the controller port on the front of the system? OR... do you mean you can plug it in but the system does not recognize that you have a controller connected?Try a different contoller first. Then try your controller on another system if possible. Doing this will narrow down the issue.
Sorry, it can connect but it doesn't respond to any button press. I've already tried another controller so I know that's not the problem. The system doesn't realize there's a controller when one's plugged in.
You've got a bad controller board. What you need to do is find yourself another dreamcast. The Dreamcast is very easy to open up and fix yourself. Once you get another Dreamcast I would open both up and decide which one has the never disk drive, which one is more quiet, which system is cleaner, and then take the working controller board out and put it in that console. This is a very common problem among older Dreamcasts.

Your controller board is burned out. open up the case and find the resistor labled F1 twist it so that the wires touch. and dont use that controller again. problem solved. same thing happened to me its a common issue it takes like 2 minutes to fix.
