Just got a PSone....

I never owned a playstation. Today, I picked up a PSone (the thin one released in 2000) at a yard sale for $3. Just the system and the cords. I asked if he had any games, and he said his son scratched them up pretty bad. I forgot to ask about controllers (how stupid of me). I have a spare PS1 memory card, however.... Anyways, I was wondering what would be some good games to get. Anything besides Final Fantasy and Medal Gear (those are obvious). Cheap would be nice. Maybe not anything epic, but a decent game to start me off. I'm already looking into Soul Blade, wondering if that's worth it. Also I was wondering the rarity of the PSone compared to the original. Is the LCD screen worth it? I know this is a lot of stuff, but any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Just got a PSone....

It's not epic but the gameplay and story is good. You go through levels collecting gems and killing enemies so it's a nice game to play even now. If you don't mind the controls, then Tomb Raider 1 is another pick up and play game.If you want something epic later on you should get Resident Evil 1 or 2, Silent Hill or Dino Crisis. Can't help you with the LCD screen, but it would be too small for me to play on, I wouldn't enjoy it as much as my 28'' TV. Oh yeah, and when you get your controller make sure it has two analogue sticks on it because some official controllers don't. It's better than using the d-pad for racing games and some 3D platformers.Just got a PSone....

I actually didn't mean to quote you in my reply. I quoted you to remember what you asked and I forgot all about it and it went through. Hope you manage to get some games for it because it has some crackers.
Any Twisted Metal game is good, along with Gran Turismo 1+2 if you like racing, also...NFl Blitz, Tony Hawk (any), GTA 2, Jet Moto 2, Medal of Honor,
Crash Bandicoot 3 Warped, definitely.

Legend of Dragoon
Gran Turismo the game that made the PlayStation main stream.. Resident Evil 1 and 2..
Tenchu: Stealth Assassins was a great PS1 gameAs for the LCD, I wouldn't bother to buy it unless you A) don't have a TV or B) Just want it for collector's purposes. It's all of 5 inches, which makes some games difficult to play on account of the fact that the onscreen text is so small.
MedEvil, JetMoto, Syphon Filter 1-2, Tenchu, Crash Bandicoot, Castlevania SotN, THPS2, Tomb Raider 2,
