Should I play the first or only the second? Do they have good stories?Should I play both GBA Advance Wars game ...
No they dont have good stories. I wouldnt bother getting either one. Advance Wars is pretty difficult and the computer cheats. Whatever you build the computer just builds what they are weak to.
Get Drone Tactics, its pretty cool. You should also watch out for Robocalypse. I think if you own a DS and you have any brains then the next new game you should be getting is FFTA2 in 8 days.Should I play both GBA Advance Wars game ...
The only Advance Wars with a good story is Days of Ruin on the DS, which is where the series took a turn and went all Post Apocalyptic. I found the story to be quite captivating compared to the GBA Advance Wars games.

It provided a decent challenge difficulty but it wasn't too difficult. It was probably one of my most played games on the GBA after the two Golden Sun games.
I love Advance Wars. It's one of my favorite GBA games. The story isn't horrible, just nothing special. Dialouge can be pretty good, but that's not the reason you should be playing the Advance Wars series. I love both games, but you should look for both since they are pretty much the same. It's an addictive game, and if you can find other people with a GBA (if you have one) and have some kind of GBA link, then you can play multiplayer with your friends even if they don't have the game. As far as I know, Intelligent Systems (guys who made this series, as well as the Paper Mario and Fire Emblem series) makes great games, and you should check out any game they make (until further notice).
Really, well what about Dual Strike? Days of Ruin got the lowest score out of all of them... I suppose it is the kind of game that doesn't change the series but keeps everything intact and is the newest. But seriously, what about Dual Strike.
If you're interested in some fun challenging turn-based strat games, then I do suggest you go ahead and play the first two GBA Advance Wars, especially if you want to play Dual Strike (which is the third in the series of Advance Wars). The stories for both aren't captivating, but it's enough to get the game flowing from one level to another. But I think you should check them out.
I love both of them. They're challenging and you get the feeling of accomplishment when you beat the levels. If you had to choose one, I'd take the 2nd one. It has more officers, weapons, and features.
